The ABA Section of Business Law announced the winners of its 2006 National Public Service Award. The individual award was presented to David R. Punzak of the Carlton Fields law firm at the ABA Section of Business Law Spring Meeting recently held in Tampa, Florida.

David R. Punzak is a partner in the St. Petersburg office of Carlton Fields. David was nominated by the staff and the Board of Directors of the Florida Community Loan Fund ("FCLF"). David has donated several hundred hours of time to FCLF, and has made himself available to FCLF without hesitation for over eight years. David assists FCLF with all manner of real estate and lending legal matters. Beneficiaries of David's pro bono services to FCLF include homes for teenagers in foster care, Florida's first charter school for the children of migrant farm workers, and mixed- use projects that have helped revitalize distressed neighborhoods. David also provides pro bono legal services to at least two other Tampa-area nonprofit organizations. In addition, David has served on the boards of eight different nonprofit organizations in the Tampa-St. Petersburg area during his legal career.
