In October, 2007 the German Chancellor announced the creation of the GGWPP (German Ghetto Work Payment Program) to offer payment of $3,000.00 to the approximate 60,000 Holocaust Survivors who worked in German controlled ghettos during WWI. This one time payment has made a substantial difference in the lives of survivors, many who are forced to live below the poverty level. We are fortunate that Baker & McKenzie and Weil, Gotshal & Manges accepted the position to coordinate the clinics in South Florida. We are especially fortunate because most cities do not have attorneys providing free legal services to Holocaust Survivors for their reparations needs.
