SOUTH FLORIDA LAW FIRM RECEIVES AWARD FROM FLORIDA SUPREME COURT

The Miami law firm of Podhurst Orseck Josefsberg Eaton Meadow Olin & Perwin, P.A., has been selected to receive the Law Firm Commendation award from Chief Justice Charles T. Wells of the Florida Supreme Court. The awards ceremony will be held at the Court Friday, Feb. 9.
The purpose of the Law Firm Commendation is to recognize a law firm which has demonstrated a significant contribution in the delivery of legal services to individuals or groups on a pro bono basis.
With the leadership of the partners, the firm has built its reputation in part through its unwavering commitment both to charitable organizations and to the numerous causes which advance the legal profession. All of the firm's attorneys participate actively in community and pro bono activities, including representing the homeless, the accused, the immigrants, and those deprived of their legal rights. Each partner donates an average of 345 hours per year to handling pro bono cases. Lawyers of the firm have served in leadership roles in various community organizations such as: Greater Miami Jewish Federation; Miami Coalition Against Drugs; legal committee of the "We Will Rebuild" effort after Hurricane Andrew; American Civil Liberties Union of Florida; Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc; Legal Aid and Public Policy Committee of the Dade County Bar, and the Judicial Nominating Committee for the Eleventh Circuit. The firm also participates in numerous volunteer organizations throughout t he Miami-Dade area.
